Personnel from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Risk Management Bureau’s Traffic Services Detail conducted a driving under the influence (DUI) checkpoint on the evening of June 1, 2012 as part of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s commitment to public safety. This checkpoint was one of many that have been or will be conducted throughout the year in Lynwood. The location of the checkpoint was on Long Beach Boulevard at the 105 Freeway. The goal of the checkpoint was removing impaired drivers and to bring awareness to the public of the dangers of driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol. This checkpoint was funded by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
