Members of the Century Station Crime Impact Team recently served a search warrant at a residence in the Florence/Firestone district. The search warrant targeted a known gang member who was believed to be involved in the sale of illicit drugs near an elementary school. Upon gaining entry into the location, the suspect fled out the rear door of the residence and quickly discarded a large amount of marijuana. Also recovered during the search operation were methamphetamine, a sawed-off shotgun, and additional evidence of the suspect being involved in the sale of illicit drugs. The suspect was later charged with narcotics and weapons related violations. Personnel from Century Station often utilize search warrants as a tool to combat the sale of illicit drugs in the community. This is another example of Century Station’s active effort toward disarming gang members and combatting the sale of illicit drugs.
