ANNOUNCES ITS PARTICIPATION IN
2012 LAW ENFORCEMENT TORCH RUN FOR
The Anne Arundel County Police Department is proud to announce its participation in the annual Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics. Begun in 1986, this is the run’s 26th Anniversary in Maryland.
In an effort to help raise money and awareness for the athletes taking part in the Summer Games, on Tuesday, June 5, 2012, Anne Arundel County Police Officers will be running approximately fifteen miles. Officers will begin at approximately 9 a.m. at the Glen Burnie Town Center and travel along Ritchie Highway through the communities of Arnold, Severna Park, Pasadena and Glen Burnie ending at the Naval Academy Bridge at approximately 11:30 a.m.
Don't miss your chance to see the exciting Law Enforcement Torch Run. Come out and join us by cheering our runners as the flame torch travels up Ritchie Highway. The torch will ultimately arrive via relay at the Open Ceremony for the 2012 Summer Special Olympics being held at Towson University June 9-10th.
