On April 18, 2012, 48 students of the Century Sheriff’s Station Youth Leadership Academy participated in the program’s graduation ceremony. The students are drawn from the communities served by Century station; including Florence/Firestone, Athens Park/Willowbrook, and the city of Lynwood. In attendance were 275 Sheriff’s Department members, family, and friends. The Leadership Academy is a ten week course designed for our youth to learn valuable leadership skills and important life lessons. The curriculum is taught by deputy sheriffs and other community leaders who personify and exhibit fundamental leadership principles while at work, home, and in our communities. The Century Station Youth Leadership Academy truly inspires youth to achieve their dreams. Century station would like to congratulate each graduating student on their achievement.
