Barricaded Suspect Surrenders To Special Weapons Team
On May 5, 2012, deputies from Century Station responded to a call of a shooting in the 9500 block of Zamora Avenue. The victim, a 22 year-old Hispanic male from Los Angeles, was uninjured in the incident. The deputies learned that the suspect ran into a nearby home and subsequently refused to come out. A Special Weapons Team from the Special Enforcement Bureau responded to the incident and attempted to gain the suspect’s surrender. The attempts failed and tear gas was introduced into the location. A short time later, the suspect exited the house and surrendered without incident. The suspect was booked for Assault with a Deadly Weapon at the Century Regional Detention Facility.
