Detectives Seek to Locate Owners of More Than 150 Expensive Bicycles stolen in Residential Burglaries
Who: Lieutenant Kent Wegener, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s
Department, Major Crimes Bureau.
What: Sheriff’s Major Crimes Detectives are seeking the public’s assistance in locating individuals who were targets of a residential burglary crew operating throughout Southern California. These suspects identified high-end bicycle (valued at over $2,000 each) riders through social media including Craigslist and used the information to target and steal their property. The burglaries occurred in the Counties of Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego and Ventura. These included cities such as Agoura Hills, Westlake Village, Woodland Hills, Santa Clarita, Whittier, Oak Park, Temecula, Murrieta, Irvine, Fountain Valley, San Bernardino, Thousand Oaks, and Torrey Pines. Over $100,000 in stolen bicycle property was recovered by detectives who would like to return it to the rightful owners and prosecute the suspects.
Note: ***We are seeking the owners of 20 bikes and 40 wheels that were recovered and whose owners we have not yet identified. These will be on display****
