Deputy Sheriffs from Century station were recently flagged down by a victim who had been recently shot at. The deputies followed the victim back to the location of occurrence. Upon arrival, the victim pointed out two suspects. Simultaneously, a gunshot wrung out from the location of the suspects prior to one of the suspects discarding a loaded firearm. It was later learned the firearm had malfunctioned during the shooting. Evidence of a shooting was located and the suspects were arrested after they were positively identified. Proactive police work and the arrest of armed gang members by Century station personnel have prevented additional violent crime.
