Keyes, CA – On Monday at 4:39 PM a Sheriff’s Deputy responded to the 5700 Block of 10th Street in Keyes, CA for a family fight. Shortly after arriving on scene the deputy requested assistance after advising he had deployed his Taser. While back-up units were en route to assist the deputy the deputy advised that shots had been fired. An adult male was transported to a Modesto hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The adult male has been identified as 32 y/o Jorge Ramirez of Keyes, CA. The deputy has been identified as Art Parra Jr and he has been with the Sheriff’s Office for six years. Deputy Para will be placed on administrative leave per department policy. The investigation is still on-going and when completed will be sent to the District Attorney
