On April 10, 2012 around 10:41AM, Police Officers with the Fayetteville Police Department took Ricky L. Martin Jr. into custody in connection with an attempted murder that occured on March 10, 2012. Martin was located at a residence on the 1100 block of Sleepy Hollow Drive. Martin is currently being held at the Cumberland County Detention Center on a $1,001,500 secured bond.

Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department would like to release an updated photo of Ricky L. Martin. In addition, the address listed for Martin in the original news release is an older address and Martin no longer lives there. At this time, Martin’s address is unknown.

• Attempted Murder
• Assault With a Deadly Weapon With Intent to Kill and Inflict Serious Injury, and
• Attempted Robbery With a Dangerous Weapon.

Suspect Wanted for Attempted Murder (3/26/2012)

Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department have identified the suspect responsible for the shooting at the gas station located at 1913 Ramsey Street on March 10, 2012. Warrants have been secured for the arrest of Ricky Martin Jr. for Attempted 1st Degree Murder, Assault With a Deadly Weapon With Intent to Kill and Inflict Serious Injury, and Attempted Robbery With a Dangerous Weapon.

Update: (3/12/2012)

Detectives and forensic technicians with the Fayetteville Police Department now have photos from surveillance cameras taken during the robbery and shooting that occurred at 1913 Ramsey Street on March 10, 2012. During the course of the robbery, the victim was shot by the suspect after the suspect demanded money. The suspect arrived in at the gas station in a dark colored sedan with damage to the right front quarter panel. The vehicle is either a Mercury Grand Marquis or Ford Crown Victoria. The suspect is described as:
• Early to mid-twenties in age
• Around 5’8” tall
• Slim to medium build
• Wearing a dark colored coat and an Atlanta Braves hat

Victim Shot During Robbery (3/12/2012)

On March 10, 2012 shortly after 2 AM, Fayetteville Police responded to a report of a shooting that occurred at a gas station located at 1913 Ramsey Street. The victim was pumping gas when a suspect walked up to the victim, demanded money, and then shot the victim. The suspect then left the scene on foot. The victim was taken to Cape Fear Valley Hospital to be treated for his injuries.
