* Veterans Program of the Los Angeles County jail system

This program assists male and female inmates who have served in the United States Armed Forces. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and Veterans Affairs’ community provide veteran inmates with the resources and programs necessary to transition successfully back to their communities. This multifaceted outreach program includes medical, mental health, counseling, and support group interventions. Transitional support and resources are also provided to veterans as they prepare for release from custody.

If you know an incarcerated veteran, ask him/her to ask a deputy, custody assistant, or other jail employee to speak to a Veterans Justice Specialist.
