APD Crimes Against Persons investigators have been advised that Sherry Lajuanna Short WF 58 was arrested near Summerville, South Carolina at 4:40 PM today. The missing child is safe and will be turned over to a local child protective service agency until she can be returned to her parents. Sherry Short is in custody at the Berkeley County jail.
Previously posted to Nixle: The Amarillo Police Department is investigating a case in which a child has been taken by her maternal grandmother. The child was last seen in Amarillo on Friday March 16, 2012. The current whereabouts of the child and her grandmother is unknown.
Missing Child: Bridgette Renee Sholz, age 4. She is about 3' 10", with light brown hair and blue eyes.
Suspect: Sherry Lajuanna Short, AKA Sherry Rosenberger, white female age 58. Sherry Short is described as 5’8”, 150 pounds, with reddish blonde hair and green eyes.
Vehicle: Silver colored 2003 Lincoln Towncar, Texas license plate SNP242
Sherry last lived in Snyder, Texas, but has ties to Amarillo. The child’s mother lives in Amarillo. The child was previously living with her father in Albuquerque, NM. The father and mother have not seen the child since last Friday. Law enforcement believes that Sherry and Bridgette could be anywhere in the Texas Panhandle. A warrant has been issued for Sherry Short for the offense of Interference With Child Custody.
