Meth lab bust at 122 Friendship Rd. Pulaski ,TN

Monday, March 12, 2012, Giles County Sheriff’s Department Deputy Scott Nations and Narcotics Investigator Mike Thomason investigated a tip that came through Giles County E-911 of a methamphetamine lab at 122 Friendship Road, Pulaski. Nations and Thomason went to the residence and while talking to the resident saw parts of a used shake and bake meth lab in the yard in plain view. Investigator Thomason obtained a search warrant and Nations, Thomason and Chief Deputy Tommy Chapman served the search warrant on the residence.
While on the property officers saw that the electric meter had been removed by the Pulaski Electric System and had been strapped using illegal methods to obtain electricity. The electric company was called to the scene to disconnect power at the pole.
Deputy Scott Nations and Chief Deputy Tommy Chapman donned hazardous materials suits and entered the residence and removed three one pot meth labs and other methamphetamine manufacturing evidence. The hazardous materials were turned over to the Tennessee Methamphetamine Task Force for proper disposal. The residence was sealed and quarantined with signage prohibiting any entry into the residence except by the proper officials or hazardous materials clean up company.
James Michael Magness Jr., thirty-eight years old of 122 Friendship Road was arrested at the residence and transported to Giles County Jail after he was decontaminated by Giles County Office of Emergency Management Haz-Mat Team, Barry Whitt, Jeremy Holley and Chris Morgan.
Magness was charged with initiation of methamphetamine manufacture, simple possession of methamphetamine, reckless endangerment, possession of drug paraphernalia, and theft of services. Magness was charged with reckless endangerment because of the volatile nature of the meth labs in proximity to Ingas propane storage lot. Magness remains in the Giles County Jail with a bond of $53,000.
