The Annual Lakewood Sheriff’s Community Run will take place on Saturday, March 10, 2012. The professionally timed course winds through the streets of Lakewood. Sheriff’s officials warn motorists passing through the area of expected traffic delays between the hours of 7:30 and 11:00 am, due to periodic street and lane closures associated with the race. Affected streets include Clark Avenue, Candlewood Street, South Street, Palo Verde Avenue, Woodruff Avenue, Harvey Way, and Del Amo Boulevard in central Lakewood. Those living in neighborhoods inside the race course perimeter may also experience delays in merging onto or crossing these major thoroughfares.

Use Carson Street, Artesia Boulevard, Lakewood Boulevard, and Studebaker Road as alternate routes.
