The Berks-Lehigh Regional Police is releasing information about a recent crime/crime activity near your address.
On March 8th, 2012, there were multiple reported thefts from *unlocked* vehicles in the HIGHGATE CRIME WATCH area. These thefts included 4 from King Way and 1 from Kingston Way.
Items stolen included jewelry, bluetooth devices,a GPS device, sunglasses, a wallet, and an ipod.
It is believed that these thefts occurred between midnight and 3:30 am
on Thursday morning.
This morning, BLRPD has also investigated two additional thefts from vehicles on Pathfinder Rd. and Colebrook Rd. (COLDWATER CROSSING CRIME WATCH). These thefts are believed to have occurred overnight. No signs of forced entry were observed, so it is believed that these vehicles were also unlocked. 3 GPS systems were taken along with a CD player.
It is not uncommon to see an increase in these types of crimes when the weather gets warmer. Please always lock your vehicles, especially overnight. BLRPD nightshift supervisors are aware of these thefts and will adjust neighborhood sweeps accordingly.
