Fruitport Township Police Department responded to The Lakes Mall at approximately 1:00 PM on 02/25/2012 regarding a stolen purse complaint.
Officers arrived on scene and met with the victim who stated she had forgotten her purse on the MATS bus. She returned to the bus, and witnesses advised officers a female subject had taken the purse and went into the mall.
Officers located the suspect inside the mall and recovered contents of the victim's purse in the possession of the suspect. The victim's purse was later discovered in a trash can in a restroom inside the mall.
The suspect was lodged at the Muskegon County Jail for larceny. The suspect's name is being withheld pending arraignment.
