On Friday, 03 February 2012 at 1:35pm members of the Special Investigations Bureau of the Perth Amboy Police Department conducted surveillance in the area of 300 Barclay Street after receiving information of narcotic activity in that area. Three individuals were observed exiting that residence with a bag, place it into the trunk of a parked 2003 Audi A6 and then walk away from the vehicle. A short time later they returned entering into a van that was parked nearby and retrieved an item. These individuals then returned to the trunk of the parked Audi and removed the same bag that was placed into the Audi. After a police investigation the bag was retrieved and detectives discovered 60 individual glassine envelopes of a substance believed to be heroin that were packaged for sale along with a box that contained over 1000 empty glassine envelopes that are used to package heroin. A total of $2,321.00 in cash was recovered from the individual's.
Arrested were Luis Ramon Saez age 23, Joshua Ortiz-Arriaga age 21 and Luis Hiram Saez age 29 all from Perth Amboy. The total street value of the heroin seized is approximately $900.00. The New Jersey State Police K-9 Unit assisted with the investigation.
Luis Ramon Saez was charged with possession of Heroin, possession of Heroin with intent to distribute, possession of Heroin with intent to distribute within 500 feet of a Public housing development and conspiracy to distribute Heroin. Bail was set at $75,000.00 cash only with bail restriction. A summons was also issued for possession of drug paraphernalia.
Luis Hiram Saez was charged with possession of Heroin, possession of Heroin with intent to distribute, possession of Heroin with intent to distribute within 500 feet of a Public housing development and conspiracy to distribute Heroin. Bail was set at $75,000.00 cash only with bail restriction. A summons was also issued for possession of drug paraphernalia.
Joshua Ortiz Arriaga was charged with possession of Heroin, possession of Heroin with intent to distribute, possession of Heroin with intent to distribute within 500 feet of a Public housing development and conspiracy to distribute Heroin. Bail was set at $50,000.00 bail with bail restriction. A summons was also issued for possession of drug paraphernalia.
Bail was set by Honorable Judge Maria Del Valle-Koch.
