Two car accident at Church Lane/Fresh Ponds Road with extrication.

On Sunday, February 12, 2012 at approximately 1:27pm East Brunswick Police Department along with the East Brunswick District 3 Fire Department, Milltown Rescue Squad, South Brunswick Rescue Squad and Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Paramedics responded to a two car collision at the intersection of Church Lane and Fresh Ponds Road. The collision caused Church Lane to be closed for approximately one hour while the Police Department’s Special Operations Unit investigated the accident.

Liljana Parastatidis, 55 year old female of East Brunswick, was driving a 2005 four door Acura, travelling west on Church Lane heading towards Riva Avenue. Marisa Adinolfi, 17 year old female of Milltown, was driving a 2008 four door Nissan, travelling east on Church Lane. Ms. Adinolfi made a left turn from Church Lane onto Fresh Ponds Road in front of Ms. Parastatidis’ vehicle. Ms. Parastatidis was unable to stop her vehicle in time and both vehicles collided.

As result of the collision Ms. Parastatidis had be extricated by the East Brunswick District 3 Fire Department. She suffered abdominal pain and pain to her right leg. Ms. Adinolfi complained of pain to her left arm and left leg. Both parties were transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The accident is still under investigation by Ptl. James Angermeier of the East Brunswick Police Department’s Special Operations Unit. If anyone has any further information on the accident, Ptl. Angermeier can be contacted at 732-390-6969.
