THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN UPTON HAS ISSUED A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY...IN EFFECT FROM LATE TONIGHT THROUGH SATURDAY AFTERNOON. SNOW FALL IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN LATE TONIGHT AND CONTINUE INTO SATURDAY AFTERNOON. ACCUMULATIONS ARE EXPECTED TO VARY FROM 4 TO 6 INCHES OF SNOW WITH THE HIGHER ACCUMULATIONS EXPECTED NORTH AND WEST OF NYC.
* We remind residents that local ordinance requires vehicles to be removed from the streets once 3 inches of snow has accumulated. The fine for a violation of this offense has increased to $50.
* Sidewalks should be cleared within 12 hours of the ending of the storm and it is illegal to throw snow/ice into the street.
