**(Sherman Oaks Senior Lead Officers/LAPD** has an important message for you! **Recent Residential Burglaries**.

**Senior Lead Officers/LAPD Van Nuys** has an important message for the community!

** There were two additional residential burglaries on January 11th.

1. The first was along the 14900 block of Jadestone Drive in Reporting District 0991, between the hours of 12:30 p.m. and 1:00 p.m.. The suspect (s) smashed in the laundry room door, entered the residence and ransacked the rooms, locating some cash , kept in the closet. There were no suspects seen by the returning residents, who wisely waited for Police, and did not enter their residence. It is always best to assume that there may still be someone inside your home and await the arrival of Police. Any neighbors who may have seen any person or persons in the area around that time of day are urged to contact the Van Nuys Detectives at [email protected] or [email protected]. With this small window of opportunity, it appears that the suspects may have been in the area, looking for residents who are leaving their homes. Please be aware of any strange vehicles in the area and call us if they do not belong in your neighborhoods.

2. The second was along the 14200 Block of Valley Vista Boulevard. In this case, the alarm scared off the suspect (s) and there was damage to the rear window and the alarm box, which was smashed, but no property was noticed missing/taken at this time. Fortunately, the alarm continued to ring and the suspect (s) climbed over a front yard fence and fled. The alarm worked and if you observed anyone suspicious in the area between 8:30-9:00 p.m. on the 11th, please contact the Burglary Detectives listed above.

Our efforts continue with dedicated patrols in the area, under-cover officers conducting surveillance and our Air-Ships (Helicopters) checking the areas from above when available, but the best resource is the Neighborhood Watch and the "Eyes and Ears" of you and your neighbors. Please remain vigilant in your efforts to watch out for yourselves and your neighbors.
