Larcenies from Vehicles - 3200 block of Micka.

Fruitport Police Department is investigating larcenies from unlocked vehicles in the 3200 block of Micka in Fruitport Township. Incidents took place overnight on 01/09/2012-01/10/2012.

Members of the community are being asked to report any observed suspicious activity / suspicious persons.

Additionally, the following suggestions for prevention are provided:

* Close windows and lock your vehicle anytime you leave it unattended.

* Place valuables you must leave in your car out of sight - preferably in your trunk.

* Secure your vehicle inside a locked garage, if possible. If not, try to park in areas with high visibility. Avoid dark, secluded areas.

* Auto burglar alarms are available. Advertise the fact that you have one if you do. (i.e.: window decals)

* Record brand, model number, and serial number for valuables such as stereos, MP3 players, GPS devices, and cellular phones. Consider engraving these items to make the even more identifiable. Ideally they should be removed from the vehicle or out of sight when parked.
