Help End Auto Theft


This is a voluntary statewide vehicle registration program designed to reduce car thefts. Special decals are placed on the vehicle alerting officers that the owner does not normally use the car between the hours of 1:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m.

If the vehicle is being operated during these hours, police officers may legally stop and question the driver. In addition, these decals alert Mexican authorities that the car may be stolen and should be checked before it crosses the border. Personnel at each patrol substation have the capability of registering vehicles.
