**(Montville Township Police Department)** is releasing information about a recent crime/crime activity near your address.

**(On Thursday 1/5/2012 between the hours of 6:00 PM and 6:30 PM a burglary to a residence occurred in the area of Manchester Way and Leeds Ave. Residents are reminded to immediately contact the police if they notice anything suspicious.

Please remember to follow the following crime prevention tips:

1. Make your home look occupied, and make it difficult to break in.

2. Lock all outside doors and windows before you leave the house or go to bed. Even if it is for a short time, lock your doors.

3. Leave lights on when you go out. If you are going to be away for a length of time, connect some lamps to automatic timers to turn them on in the evening and off during the day.

4. Have adequate exterior lighting. A motion-sensitive light is recommended for backyards. )**
