Deputy Runs For Water
Parks Bureau Deputy Chris Deaville will run 13.1 miles with Team World Vision on January 15, 2012, in Venice Beach, California, to provide clean drinking water for children in Africa. The leading cause of death for children under the age of five in Africa are diseases related to the lack of fresh drinking water. Some families have to walk up to nine miles to the nearest well for fresh water. $15,000.00 will build a well that will deliver water to 20,000 people for twenty years. As of today, (January 4, 2012) Chris is $305.00 away from his goal of raising $2,000.00.
