Burglary and Vehicle Theft Suspect Arrested
On 12-19-11 at 11:55 AM Stanislaus County K9 Deputy Sheriff Lloyd MacKinnon heard an audible alarm coming from a business in the 2400 Block of East Service Rd in Ceres, CA. As he began to check on the business he saw a white box type truck leaving the parking lot at a high rate of speed and he attempted to make a traffic stop on the vehicle. The driver of truck failed to pull over and led the K9 Deputy on a vehicle pursuit.
The driver of the truck drove through fences, into a back yard and back onto the roadway to get away from the Deputy MacKinnon. The driver of the truck was driving too reckless and Deputy MacKinnon stopped his pursuit because of the risk to the public. Information was put out to local agencies and the vehicle was found by a Ceres Police Department Officer behind a residence in the 3000 Block of Moore Rd.
Officers from CHP, Ceres Police Department, the Auto Theft Task force and deputies began to look for the driver of the vehicle. After a search, he was found hiding under a foot bridge in a canal about 3/4 mile away.
Deputies found that the truck had been stolen from a business on Crowslanding Rd in Modesto CA and had property in the truck that had been stolen from the business in the 2400 Block of East Service Rd. The vehicle and property were returned to the owners.
The driver was identified as 44 y/o Scott Holder of Ceres, CA. Holder was booked at the Stanislaus County Jail for vehicle theft, burglary, vandalism and evading a peace officer.
