Cherry Valley Police Dept. is participating in the "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" enforcement program from Dec. 19 through Jan 2.

The Cherry Valley Police Department will have extra patrol enforcement during the statewide "Drive Sober or Get pulled Over" traffic enforcement campaign. From December 19th, 2011 through January 2nd, 2012 our officers will be targeting impaired drivers and seatbelt violators, especially during the late night hours.

Impaired driving is a deadly crime in America, especially in males age 21 to 34.

During the holiday season, many adults celebrate and enjoy themselves with a couple of drinks, but even one too many increases the risk of a motor vehicle crash while driving a motor vehicle.

Law enforcement in Illinois is placing special emphasis on these dangerous driving practices, especially during late night hours.

Data shows a very disproportionate number of traffic crashes on Illinois roadways occur late at night. A very high percentage of these fatalities involve alcohol and motorists who have failed to buckle up.

The Cherry Valley Police Department will continue to participate in traffic enforcment programs in an effort to reduce injuries and fatalities on Illinois roadways.
