Seasons Greetings from the Berks-Lehigh Regional Police Department!

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen of the Berks-Lehigh Crime Watches,

On behalf of all the officers and administrative staff of the Berks-Lehigh Regional Police Department, we cheerfully wish you and all of your families the warmest of holiday wishes.

As we see the year of 2011 come to a close, we say goodbye to Chief of Police Michael Weiser, and wish him the best of the luck with his retirement. Under Chief Weiser’s command, the Upper Macungie and Berks municipalities saw a crime watch “boom” that created an immeasurable bond between the community and police department. For this, we say thank you- and promise to continue making this bond stronger as we progress as a community based law enforcement agency.

In 2012, we welcome Interim Chief Roger Heins, a 24 year police veteran and dedicated public servant. Like his predecessor, Chief Heins remains committed to the citizens of the jurisdiction. As many of you know, the future of our police department is changing rapidly. Along with the supervisors and council members of your respective communities, Chief Heins is prepared to make these changes flow as smoothly as possible, with no interruption of professional police services to the residents.

May the warmth and peace of the holiday season be yours today and always. Thank you all for helping us make crime watch a success.

Sincerely,
Investigator Peter Nickischer
Criminal Investigations Division
Berks-Lehigh Regional Police

”Christmas--that magic blanket that wraps itself about us, that something so intangible that it is like a fragrance. It may weave a spell of nostalgia. Christmas may be a day of feasting, or of prayer, but always it will be a day of remembrance - a day in which we think of everything we have ever loved.”
- Augusta E. Rundel
