INCIDENT: Apartment Fire
DATE: December 11, 2011
LOCATION: 19 Ridge Run Bldg 20, Ridge Point Apartments

The Marietta Fire Department is currently investigating a fire that occurred in building 20 of the Ridge Point Apartments located at 19 Ridge Run on December 11, 2011.
At approximately 11:38pm the Marietta Fire Department was dispatched to the Ridge Point Apartments for an apartment fire. The first responding units observed fire coming from a second floor apartment. Initial investigation at the scene revealed that the fire started in a second floor apartment in the bedroom. The tenant attempted to extinguish the fire, but was unsuccessful. Approximately nine fire units arrived on scene to battle the fire. All ten apartment units in building 20 were destroyed by the fire, displacing all 45 residents. No injuries were reported.
The Red Cross is currently on scene providing assistance to the displaced homeowners. The exact cause of the fire is still under investigation by the Marietta Fire Department, but no charges are expected against the tenant.
