INCIDENT: Apartment Building Fire
DATE: December 10, 2011
LOCATION: 55 Henderson Street, Henderson Arms Apartments

The Marietta Fire Department is currently investigating a fire that occurred on Saturday, December 10, 2011 at approximately 11:17am. at 55 Henderson Street at the Henderson Arms Apartments.
Marietta Police and Fire arrived on scene and observed smoke coming from a fifth story window. Both departments coordinated a full evacuation and accountability of all 118 residents in the building. The Marietta Fire Department was able to contain the fire to the fifth floor of the building, but took precautions since smoke extended two floors above the original fire location. A 69 year old female was rushed to Grady Hospital with serious burns and is in critical condition.
Residents are currently being allowed back into the building in a coordinated manner. Those residents that were displaced due to fire damage are being relocated. An investigation into the origin and cause of the fire is being conducted by the Marietta Fire Department.
