Alhambra residents are asked to be aware of the theft of manhole and drain covers for streets and sidewalks. These thefts pose a serious public safety hazard to pedestrians and motorists. Please be on watch and consider "adoping" your neighborhood's manhole and drain covers. If you see anyone removing or tampering with these covers, please call the Alhambra Police Department immediately at (626) 570-5177.

These thefts as well as copperwire thefts are occurring during hours of darkness. Be especially careful where you step when out for your neighborhood walks. A missing drain cover could result in injury to you should you fall into the hole that a stolen cover should be protecting. Report missing covers to the Alhambra Police Department.
