On Saturday, November 26, 2011 at 6:20 PM, a passerby witnessed two individuals jump over the fence at the Palmdale Learning Plaza School (38000 Block of Division Lane, Palmdale) and immediately called the Palmdale Sheriff’s Station.

The witness told deputies that a Nissan Armada SUV dropped off two individuals, dressed in dark clothing, in front of the school. The two suspects then jumped over the fence of the school grounds and disappeared into the interior of the campus.

Palmdale deputies surrounded the school and were about to make entry when they were notified of an alarm activation in one of the school’s classrooms. Shortly after, deputies saw the two individuals run from the school campus out onto the grass field north of the school. Deputies detained the two individuals along with a rolling basket containing stolen items taken from the school.

During their investigation deputies learned the suspects had broken into two of the classrooms. They used a rock to shatter the windows and a stick to open the doors from the inside.

Once inside, the two individuals ransacked the classrooms taking cash, a cell phone, pocket knife, snacks and other miscellaneous items and placed them into a rolling basket from a storage closet in one of the classrooms. The two then left the classrooms and found the deputies waiting outside.

Both suspects were transported and booked at Palmdale Sheriff’s Station for burglary charges and were subsequently released to their parents. School officials placed the damage at $1,000.
