Arrest made in Friday Monrovia (Co.) kidnap of 6 yr.old boy (who is ok). LASD Temple Station Seeking Info. from Public

An arrest was made Sunday by Temple Sheriff's Station detectives in connection with the Friday kidnapping of a 6-year old boy on the 2500 block of Graydon Ave., unincorporated Monrovia (Co.).

At 4:10PM, November 4, Temple Sheriff's Station deputies were called to Graydon Ave. and conducted an extensive search for the described suspect, including the use of sheriff's bloodhounds. No suspect was found at the time.

The child was able to break free from the kidnapper.

A sheriff's composite sketch was made of the suspect.

The sketch and details of the incident were shared with the public and the news media via sheriff's Nixle (text/ email), Facebook and Twitter.

Temple Sheriff's Station patrol deputies followed through with the search by going door to door asking community members if they recognized the suspect as described and depicted in the sheriff's composite sketch. Deputies were told of a man who frequented a residence on the 2500 block of Peck Road, also in Monrovia (Co.).

Temple Sheriff's Station detectives made contact with a 32-year old suspect at the Peck Road residence at 4:10pm, Sunday, November 6, 48 hours after the original report of the incident. The suspect was arrested at the Peck Road residence.

Sheriff's detectives then obtained a search warrant for the suspect's residence at a separate location in Monrovia (Co.). The search warrant was served at 3:30AM, Monday.

Sketch of WANTED suspect: 6-yr Old Child Kidnapping, Monrovia (Co.), SGV, Friday (child okay)

A report of a child kidnapping at the 2500 block of Graydon Ave. in Monrovia (unincorporated community) is being investigated by Temple Sheriff's Station deputies.

The child was able to break free from the kidnapper during the 4:10PM, Friday, Nov. 4, 2011 incident.

The 6-year old male White victim boy explained that he was in his backyard when the suspect appeared and picked him up in his arms. The suspect ran with the victim to a nearby apartment complex while covering the victim’s mouth with his hand. When the victim bit the suspect, the suspect dropped the victim and ran from the scene. The victim ran home where he was reunited with his mother.

Temple Sheriff's Station deputies and detectives responded to the scene and are working to identify the suspect.
