Sheriff’s Office Homicide Detectives Make an Arrest on a 2009 Homicide and Seek a Second Suspect 
Modesto, CA – On December 04, 2009 at 3:00 PM Sheriff’s Office deputies and detectives responded to the Gas N Shop located at 837 S. 9th Street in Modesto CA for a homicide investigation. 28 y/o Harinder Sanghera of Ceres, CA was shot and killed during an attempted robbery.
On Friday October 28th, 2011 24 y/o Mark Burgess of Merced, CA turned himself into Merced Police Department regarding the 2009 homicide. Sheriff’s Office detectives were able to link Burgess to the homicide and he was arrested. As detectives continued to work on the investigation over the weekend they developed information on a second suspect 22 y/o Ernesto Morales Jr of Merced.
