A tragic shooting at a business in which nine people were shot has occurred on Pacific Coast Highway in Seal Beach, just south of the Long Beach city limits. As a result of this lengthy investigation and the large police presence, it is anticipated that traffic will be very congested southbound PCH at the San Gabriel River bridge into Seal Beach. Motorists heading into the Seal Beach or nearby Orange County cities via Pacific Coast Highway are encouraged to seek alternate routes to travel.

The Long Beach Police Department has been asked to assist with this event and will handle peripheral duties and will not be participating in the shooting investigation. Resources sent from the LBPD will include Search and Rescue personnel, police psychologist and police chaplains to address concerns of the victim's family members.
