Incident: 11360 (A) HS (Transport/Possession for sale of Marijuana)
Suspect: Horowitz, Michael William, Las Vegas, Nevada resident
Location: S/B Hwy 101 at the construction zone on Cotati Grade
Summary: On the listed date and time, a Petaluma Police Officer was traveling S/B on Hwy 101 at the Cotati Grade returning from taking a subject to County Jail, when he noticed a speeding vehicle in front of him. The vehicle was driving over 65 mph in the posted 55 mph construction zone. The Officer stopped the vehicle for the vehicle code violation and contacted the driver, Michael Horowitz. While speaking with the driver, the Officer detected a strong odor of marijuana emitting from the interior of the vehicle. During a subsequent search of the vehicle, Officers located approximately 10 lbs of marijuana individually wrapped in six separate sealed bags. Horowitz admitted to buying the marijuana in the Eureka area to take back to Las Vegas. Horowitz was transported and booked into the Sonoma County Jail with a bail of $30,000.
