OCSO recognized for supporting our military employees.
(Oklahoma City) September 9, 2011 the Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office was honored by the U.S. Secretary of Defense. We were a nominee for the Freedom Award in recognition of exemplary support of guard and reserve employees. Sheriff John Whetsel said, "This is an honor our agency is very proud of considering the brave work our employees do defending us, and they are willing to sacrifice their lives for our freedom. As long as I am Sheriff of Oklahoma County, I will do whatever it takes to support the military men and woman who work for the Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office."
Currently the Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office has 22 employees who are in the military. We pledge to support these employees and we are extremely proud of each and every one of them.
