OCSO INVESTIGATORS MAKE ARREST IN LUTHER ATTEMPTED KIDNAPPING CASE.
(Luther, Oklahoma) Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office investigators arrested Larry Lynn Edwards (d.o.b. 11/23/1949) on September 20, 2011 around 3:30pm. Edwards was arrested on complaints of kidnapping and aggravated assault and battery for an attempted kidnapping incident that happened September 13th at Cox Field Park in Luther, Oklahoma.
Two girls ages 7, and 9 were in the park when a man pulled up on a motorcycle and attempted to abduct the children. The girls were able to fight off the suspect, but they did suffer some minor scrapes and bruising as a result of the attack. Law enforcement officers in Luther with assistance from the Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office were able to develop information relating to the suspect after a composite drawing of the suspect was identified by witnesses.
Deputies were given the name of Larry Lynn Edwards, an arrest warrant for him. Deputies went to Edwards home at 15110 Darci Drive in Luther and spoke with his girlfriend Reba Henderson on September 20, 2011. Henderson was taken into custody on a complaint of possession of marijuana, and possession of paraphernalia after deputies found marijuana inside the house.
Larry Edwards was not at the house, but was arrested a short time later by deputies as he was driving on his motorcylcle near the intersection of N. Indian Meridian & E. Covell Road. Edwards is currently being booked into the Oklahoma County Detention Center on complaints of:
*Aggravated assault & battery
*Possession of marijuana
*Possession of paraphernalia
