Special Media Release 30 August, 2011 
At 1507, Athens-Clarke County Police Department responded to a report of a dead person at 4420 Lexington Rd (Tractor Supply Company.) The first responding officer found the deceased lying in close proximity to a vehicle with a fatal gunshot wound. Officers identified the deceased as Howard Thomas, 76, of Watkinsville. No foul play is suspected.
