Man arrested following fight and manhunt.
(Oklahoma City) August 29, 2011 two deputies went to 1120 SW 54th Street in Oklahoma City to serve warrants for Jessy Samples (d.o.b. 11/19/1985). Once at the home the deputies were directed to a shed in the backyard where three men were found inside. The deputies noticed one of the men was Jessy Samples and attempted to place him in custody.
Samples struggled with the deputies and the two other men inside the shed began fighting with the deputies in an attempt to help Samples escape custody. All three suspects were initially able to escape, but Samples was located a short time later hiding underneath a bed inside 1120 SW 54th Street. Samples refused to obey commands and an Oklahoma City Police officer and an Oklahoma County Sheriff's deputy deployed their tasers to help place Samples in custody.
Deputies did not locate the two other suspects who were inside the shed with Samples, and the men have not yet been identified. As a result of this incident one deputy was transported to the hospital because he was suffering from chest pains, a second deputy suffered lacerations on his arm and was taken to the hospital to be checked out.
Jessy Samples will be booked on burglary and drug charges related to his warrants, and there will be additional charges related to this recent incident. Deputies also arrested Johnny Samples who is Jessy's brother on a complaint of harboring a fugitive, Johnny Samples was NOT one of the three people who got into the initial confrontation with deputies.
