Huricane Irene- Update #3 from Emergency Management

Some minor update to my prior notice. In my Berks Awareness #3 I stated that:

Rain totals have been scaled back considerably with 1-3” now forecast over most of Berks and 3-5” over eastern Berks

It has been pointed out to me that some models have not brought these accumulations down, and they are still showing the higher accumulations of 3-8” across Berks (higher in the East and diminishing as you move West).

Winds remain a concern with sustained winds in excess of 30 mph and gusts over 50 mph forecast.

Small stream and urban flooding, particularly localized, remains almost a certainty

Please continue your planning with both these ranges in mind until the weather services are able to agree on something more solid. I hope to be able to provide clarity this evening. Please make sure you check the local weather channel for updates.
