Hurricane Irene Update 8/26 10:52am 
Irene has moved to the EAST and is now projected to pass 50 – 60 miles from Union County.
This will reduce the wind speed and rainfall totals predicted yesterday. However, you still need to plan and prepare for the worst case scenario as the track of the storm can still change.
We will be watching closely today for any updates and will issue Nixle alertst as soon as possible.
Union County is under a Hurricane Watch and a Flood Watch.
