A driver and his female passenger died as a result of a fatal single vehicle traffic collision on Topanga Cyn Blvd south of Marrilla St. 
On Sunday, August 21, 2011, at approximately 3:00 a.m., a severe traffic collision occurred in the community of West Hills, California. A white 2006 Scion Tc sedan was being driven northbound Topanga Canyon Boulevard by a twenty-nine year old male with a twenty-four year old female passenger. As the Scion reached a bend in the roadway at a high rate of speed, just south of Marrilla Street, the driver lost control and collided with a wooden utility pole on the east side of Topanga Canyon Boulevard. The vehicle continued N/B and collided with several other fixed objects. A rescue ambulance responded and the driver and his passenger were pronounced dead at scene. Their names will not be released pending notification of next of kin.
No arrests have been made and the investigation is being conducted by Valley Traffic Detectives.
Drivers are reminded to obey the speed limit and to always designate a sober driver.
