The Marietta Police Dept., Target, & The Franklin Rd Comm. Ass. is inviting the Franklin Road Community to participate in a special event!

Join us for the 2011 Natational Night Out Aug. 02 from 5 to 9 PM.

The Marietta Police Department will once again be participating in the annual National Night Out event on August 02, 2011 at 6 PM on Franklin Road. National Night Out is sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch in partnership with Target Department Stores.

The purpose of National Night Out is to heighten crime prevention awareness, generate support for anti-crime programs, enhance police-community partnerships, and put criminals on notice that their illegal activities are unwelcome.

Each Franklin Road apartment complex was invited by the Marietta Police Department to host a block party for their community. There were four apartment complexes that had residents sign-up to participate in the block party / National Night Out celebration.

Autumn View-1035 Franklin Road
Los Colinas-861 Franklin Road
Ridge Pointe-720 Franklin Road
Crossings at Wood Station-875 Franklin Road

There will be at least two Marietta Police Officers attending each block party and Officers will display various police tools such as Sky Watch, T-3's, K-9 Unit, and several police vehicles.

The block parties will be followed up with a Fun Games and Giveaway Gathering on the lawn at Autumn View, 1035 Franklin Road, starting at 7:30 PM hosted by the Franklin Road Community Association.
