The Cherry Valley Police Department and the Cherry Valley Fire Department invite you to “National Night Out” activities at Baumann Park on August 2nd, 2011 from 5:00 – 8:00pm. There will be police and fire representatives to speak with, bicycle registration and safety check, a bike rodeo, games and giveaways. So lock your doors, turn on your outside lights, and join your neighbors for an evening of community-wide support towards a safer nation.
The National Association of Town Watch (NATW) has announced that the “28th Annual National Night Out (NNO) program will culminate on Tuesday, August 2nd, 2011.
NNO has historically involved over 36 million people in 14,625 communities from all 50 states, U.S. territories, Canadian cities, and military bases worldwide. National Night out 2011 is expected to be the largest ever. Once again this year, Target is a national corporate sponsor.
National Night out, a year-long community building campaign, is designed to: (1) Heighten crime prevention awareness; (2) Generate support for, and participation in, local anticrime programs; (3) strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships; and (4) Send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
