Suspect Robert Herrera WANTED FOR MURDER in argument over parking space (PHOTO) [Update] LASD

Sheriff's Homicide Investigators believe Suspect Robert Herrera shot and killed Victim Daniel Villanueva during a brief argument over a parking space on April 28, 2011.

The murder occcurred in a Chuck-E Cheese Restaurant parking lot in Walnut Park (unincorporated South Los Angeles). The suspect and his female passenger were last seen driving away in a silver colored Chevy pick-up truck.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Homicide Bureau, is seeking the public’s assistance in locating Suspect Robert Herrera, a 27-year old Hispanic male. If seen, DO NOT CONTACT HIM.

Robert Herrera has multiple warrants for his arrest, and he should be considered ARMED AND DANGEROUS.

As a result of broadcasts by Fox-11 TV news featuring Tony Valdez, and KTLA-5 TV News featuring Elizabeth Espinoza, who aired this story earlier this month, which included the composite drawings of the suspects, information was obtained from one of their viewers that helped us identify the suspect and the female passenger. The suspect is Robert Herrera and the female passenger is his sister, Heira Herrera. Suspect Heira Herrera was arrested and charged.

Suspect Robert Herrera has eluded our surveillance team and is hiding somewhere in Los Angeles County. On July 22, 2011, charges were filed and an arrest warrant was issued charging Robert Herrera with the murder. He should be considered ARMED AND DANGEROUS.

Argument over parking space ends in shooting death - Do you recognize these people?

On Thursday, April 28, 2011, between 7:00 p.m. and 8:15 p.m., an argument between the victim and suspect occurred over a parking spot.

The victim was sitting inside his car by the Chuck E. Cheese Restaurant, located at La Alameda Plaza, 7716 Alameda Street, Walnut Park (South Los Angeles), when the suspect shot and killed the victim. The victim was identified as Daniel Villanueva, a 29-year old male Hispanic resident of nearby Huntington Park.

Suspect description: Male Hispanic, 20-25 years old, 5-07 to 5-09 tall, slim build, light complexion, overgrown fade style haircut, wearing white T-shirt and dark Levi pants

A Hispanic female was inside the suspect’s truck during the shooting. She is described as female Hispanic, 20-25 years old, 5-02 to 5-06, 120-125, long black hair, wearing blue jeans and a sleeveless dress blouse.

The suspect vehicle is described as a silver 2000 Series, 2-door, Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck, with alloy wheels, tinted windows, tinted head and tail lights covers, with California license plates.

Investigators are seeking the public’s assistance and asking anyone with information in identifying the suspect(s) and the pick-up truck to contact Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau at (323) 890-5500.

El jueves 28 de abril del 2011 entre las 7:00 y 8:15 de la noche, una discusión ocurrió entre la víctima y el sospechoso sobre un espacio de estacionamiento. La víctima estaba sentado dentro su vehículo por el restaurante Chuck E. Cheese ubicado en 7716 Alameda Street de La Alameda Plaza, Walnut Park, cuando el sospechoso le disparo varias veces y asesinando a la víctima. Una mujer hispana estaba dentro el vehículo del sospechoso durante el disparo y fue vista huyendo con el sospechoso.

El vehículo del sospechoso es descrito como una camioneta de color plata, Chevrolet Silverado de dos puertas, serie 2000, con las llantas de aleación, vidrios y luces polarizados, y placas de California.

Los investigadores piden la asistencia del publico. Cualquier persona con información para identificar el sospechoso y la camioneta se le pide comunicarse con el Departamento de Homicidio del Sheriff’s. Toda información permanecera anónima y confidencial.
