Incident: Residential Burglary - Terrorist Threats - Stolen Vehicle - False Imprisonment - Arrest

Date/Time Occurred: July 16, 2011, 11:15 p.m.

Suspect(s): Eric Caples, 32 yrs, Grover Beach Resident

On the above date and time, a VPD Officer responded to the 100 blk. of El Medio street in reference to a stolen vehicle investigation.
During the investigation, it was determined that the stolen vehicle was taken during a domestic violence incident that occurred on July 15, 2011.

The investigating Officer learned that Caples forced his way into the victim’s residence and held her against her will for approximately one hour. Caples then took possession of the victim’s vehicle and fled the area.

Caples later contacted the victim and threatened to harm her, causing her to fear for her safety.

On July 16, 2011 at approximately 11:15 p.m., investigating Officers were able to locate Caples in the 300 blk. of West Ramona where he was taken into custody. The vehicle was located and recovered.
Caples was booked at Ventura County Jail for the above listed charges.
