The Rockford Police Department would like to remind residents that solicitors must obtain a permit from City Hall prior to selling items door to door in the City. If you have someone approach your house please ask to see their permit prior to purchasing items from them. Checking for someone's permit will help protect you from fraudulent vendors.

If a solicitor does not have a permit contact the police department immediately. It is helpful to obtain a description of the individual and what direction they leave your house.
