Monday, June 20, 2011, at 8:46 PM, a serious injury felony hit and run collision of a pedestrian occurred at the 300 block of east Avenue J (just west of Foxton Ave), Lancaster. The victim (Maccaia Miller, FB/19) was walking southwest across Avenue J, when she was struck by the suspect vehicle. The vehicle fled west toward Division Street, out of the witnesses view.

The suspect vehicle is described as a mid size, dark red, burgundy or maroon, four door sedan, with a third (center) brake light. Most likely this vehicle has extensive front end damage to the hood and windshield, and possibly the front bumper, it’s radiator grill and the roof. A witness said the vehicle looked like it might have been a mid size Buick or another similar looking mid size.

This vehicle is not believed to have been involved in the collision, but the occupant(s) were possibly witnesses to the incident, and may have important information. Investigators from the Lancaster Traffic Unit need to talk to the occupant(s) of that Jeep Liberty vehicle.
