Marietta Police S.T.E.P. Unit investigating a serious injury accident.

The Marietta Police Department Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (S.T.E.P.) is currently investigating a serious injury accident which occurred on Interstate 75 south bound just south of the North Marietta Parkway on June 11, 2011 at 11:35AM. Initial on scene investigation reveals that a Ford Explorer traveling south bound swerved to avoid another vehicle causing the Explorer to overturn multiple times. The driver of the Explorer was ejected, an adult front seat passenger was entrapped, and a 4 year old juvenile passenger received minor injuries. The driver and passenger were transported to Kennestone Hospital in critical condition and the juvenile was transported to Scottish Rite Hospital in stable condition. All names are being withheld at this time pending notification of family. No charges are expected against any other driver and this case remains under investigation.
