Palmdale Detective James Moser filed ten counts of theft related charges on a suspect taken into custody May 29th behind several gasoline and catalytic converter thefts occurring in the Park and Ride near Avenue S and the 14 Freeway.
Detective Moser was assigned the cases which included five catalytic converter thefts and several reports of overnight gasoline siphoning over the week of the 15th through the 21st. Through information obtained on a traffic stop shortly before one of the thefts, Detective Moser was able to link evidence in his vehicle with evidence left behind at the scene of the crimes.
On May 29th Deputies Brandon Barclay and Joshua Bisantz conducted a traffic stop of the suspect near Sierra Highway and Palmdale Blvd and took him into custody. The suspect has a history of being arrested for theft related cases and was additionally charged with theft with a prior. The ongoing investigation is being handled by Palmdale’s Detective Bureau.
