Fatal Traffic collision, Train V. Pedestrian. This occurred on May 7th, 2011, at 9:05PM, near Nordhoff and Winnetka.

PRESS RELEASE
On Saturday, May 7th, at approximately 9:05PM, a fatal train versus pedestrian collision occurred near the intersection of Winnetka Avenue and Nordhoff Street. The train was an Amtrak Surfliner proceeding south from Goleta to Los Angeles. The pedestrian got into the middle of the tracks and was struck by the train.
Christopher Vazquez, 27, a resident of Sun Valley, was pronounced dead at scene by Los Angeles Fire Department personnel.
Valley Traffic Detectives are searching for any possible witnesses to the collision.
